My name is Caityn Arsenault, and I am a student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I am currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in child development. Through fulfilling my child development minor through coursework in education, I have found a deep interest in multicultural and inclusive education and just how important it is. I am extremely grateful to have grown up in diverse schools, gaining an appreciation for other cultures at a young age. I know that not all children get to be exposed to different kinds of backgrounds, and I think it is very important to give them that opportunity. I believe a great way to do this is through children’s literature, which is why building a multicultural library is such a great thing for all classrooms to have.
