Mrs. Rivera’s passion is sharing her love of literature with her students by reading a diverse collection of children’s picture books during library classes. At her current school, she teaches students from ten different countries and of many different cultures. She incorporates hands-on activities into her lessons with the hope that she is providing meaningful educational experiences for her students.
In 2020 and 2022 Mrs. Rivera was nominated for her school’s Teacher of the Year award, winning the title in 2020.
When she is not reading, teaching, and planning lessons, Mrs. Rivera’s favorite pastime is spending time with her family. She is married with two teenage boys who keep her busy. She also enjoys playing with the family’s standard poodle, Chloe. Her favorite sport is baseball, and she enthusiastically cheers for the Alabama Crimson Tide in all competitions.
