Although this children’s book is primarily targeting children ages 6 -10, the audience can extend beyond this age group and include their teachers, too. As an educational resource, teachers can use this book, aligned with the curriculum and State standards. Using an interdisciplinary approach, teachers can design a thematic unit focusing on Cinderella from different cultures. By reading this book and different Cinderella stories, the class would chart the differences in the plots, morals, and main characters. I plan to include age appropriate and culturally responsive activities that can be meaningfully integrated in the classroom. Using an integrated approach, core subjects such as math, science, and social studies can be woven into Cinderella’s storylines.
